Notice of quorum: November 3, 2017:  The Board of County Road Commissioners will be attending a safety meeting on Friday, November 3, 2017 from 5:30 p.m. to approximately 9:00 p.m. at the Timberlee Hills Banquet Facility located at 10484 S. Timberlee Drive, Traverse City, Michigan.

While a quorum of the Leelanau County Road Commission will be present, this i not a regular meeting and no official business will take place.  Please contact Secretary to the Board Joe Nedow at extension 223 if you have any questions.

Public Hearing: November 21, 2017:  The Board of County Road Commissioners has scheduled a public hearing during their Tuesday, November 21, 2017 regular meeting at 1:15 p.m. at the Suttons Bay office conference room located at 10550 E. Eckerle Road, Suttons Bay Michigan.

The purpose of this public hearing is to hear public comments regarding the Road Commission adopting a uniform permit fee schedule.

Any questions about this hearing should be directed to the Road Commission office.  To obtain a copy of the proposed uniform permit fee schedule (free of charge), please feel free to contact Managing Director Dan Wagner at dwagner@leelanauroads.org, or by phone at (231) 271-3993 extension 225.  Persons with disabilities requiring special needs are asked to notify the Road Commission 24 hours prior to the meeting.

HELP WANTED:  HEAVY EQUIPMENT MECHANIC

Leelanau County Road Commission - Suttons Bay, MI

Full-time, year-round position for a Mechanic.  Position requires CDL-A license and medical card.  If you have a a CDL but no the desired experience, we are willing to train the right individual.  However, the ideal candidate would have experience with repair and maintenance of heavy equipment and heavy duty trucks customary to a road commission operation.  Positions require a high school diploma/GED, along with a positive attitude.  EEO/ADA.

Current rate of pay is $19.15 per hour, along with a full benefits package including medical, retirement, etc.

Schedule:

The Leelanau County Road Commission typically meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month.  Meetings are at 1:00 pm and public comments are accepted at the beginning and end of every regular meeting. Members of the public are always welcome and encouraged to attend.  Follow this link for a list of 2017 meeting dates.

To meet with the Leelanau County Road Commission Board, please call Joe Nedow, Finance Manager and Secretary to the Board at 231-271-3993, Ext. 223 to schedule an appointment.  If you’d prefer to attend a regular meeting commission to offer your comments, there is a public comment session at the beginning and end of every meeting.  To present handouts or other printed material for board review, please submit them to the secretary prior to the meeting for inclusion in board member packets.

Fall, Winter and Spring Hours:

7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday from mid-August through early May.

Summer hours:

6:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Thursday, closed Fridays starting May 1st through mid-August.

Holidays 

The Leelanau County Road Commission office will be closed for the following holidays:     

                   Thursday, November 23, 2017 and

                   Friday, November 24, 2017 - Thanksgiving holiday

                   Monday, December 25, 2017 - Christmas Day

                   Monday, January 1, 2018 - New Year's Day

Road Mileage Certification Maps

These maps certify roads which are under the jurisdiction of the Leelanau County Road Commission, the length of each road, and the fact that these roads are normally open to automobile traffic May through October.
